In der Musikindustrie ist es bei einer Album-Produktion bis heute Usus, die Songs bis zum Releasedate unter Verschluss zu halten, um möglichst viele positive Reaktionen direkt in Kaufimpulse umzuwandeln. In meinem Fall, als kleiner Indie-Künstler ohne große Werbebudgets, halte ich dies jedoch für völligen Quatsch, da in Zeiten von illegalen Downloads sowieso nur die hartgesotteten Musikinteressierten wirklich das Album erwerben – eine Erfahrung, die sich auch mit meinem Debüt »emotional value« wieder bestätigte. Daher finde ich es viel spannender, den Interessierten am Entstehungsprozess teilhaben zu lassen. Derzeit arbeite ich mit vielen Freunden und Weggefährten bereits am zweiten Shareholder Tom Album und erste Ergebnisse liegen bereits vor. Zeitlich, denke ich, werden mindestens noch zehn Monate bis zur Fertigstellung des Albums vergehen. Und weil das ein ganz schön langer Zeitraum ist, möchte ich nun in meinem Webblog in größeren Abständen nicht alles, jedoch einige ausgewählte Stücke vorstellen.

ENGLISH:

In music business it´s common practice to shut away all songs until the whole album is released. The reason for this is to transform as much positive reactions as possible into a dirict buying impulse. In my case as a little indie musician without big ad budget, it seems absurd to me – especially in times, when just confirmed music fanciers are really buying an album – an experience, that came true again with my album »emotional value«. In my opinion it´s much more exciting to involve all prospects into the development process.
Currently I´m working on the second Shareholder Tom album in collaboration with many of my friends, and first results already exist! But I think, till the album will be released, it will still take ten month at least. And ´cause that´s a too long time left, I decided to release some of the new songs on my webblog.

“Stopover Abeokuta” is a song inspired by afrobeat-classics and it´s cast as follows:
